To Draw a Heartfelt Blade is a text-based game you play with your online friends. You'll discover if a high school student's fervent heart will catch the attention of World’s End to become a Swordbloom, or if they will fade into the background, nothing more than the backdrop in another, more important person’s story.

This game is inspired by Jamila R. Nedjadi's Take my Revolution, and can be played either as a standalone game or as a prequel. It is based on the design of D. Vincent Baker's Doomed Pilgrim in the Ruins of the Future. It's also part of the #JammiJamJam!

Payment in Kindness

If you can't or don't want to pay the minimum price, you can have a copy of To Draw a Heartfelt Sword by paying in kindness instead. Kindness can include (but is not limited to):

  • providing a free game to someone in a marginalized community
  • writing fan mail to someone to let them know you appreciate them
  • making time for self-care, which can include basic maintenance (did you eat, drink, take your meds?) or a special activity
  • making a donation to a local charitable organization (especially for those for queer youth and indigenous folk)
  • checking in and helping out a friend or family member

You don't need to check in with me to see if what you do counts or to prove that you did it. I believe you. Go ahead and claim your copy of the game.

(If the total quantity remaining drops to zero, please let me know so I can replenish them.)
